One thing I can say, Isaiah Firebrace has an amazing name for a performer! I know nothing about him, other than that he looks like a 12 year old. After hearing his song, I watched a couple of his X-Factor performances – it seems like he sometimes has trouble remembering all the lyrics of a song, so I hope he won’t choke on stage at Eurovision! Hopefully he has enough performances under his belt by now, though!
The song itself is well-performed. Isaiah has a wonderful voice, and everything about me wants to love this song. But I just don’t. It is so boring. Isaiah feels like he is trying to pour so much love and excitement into it, but the song is dead on arrival for me.
Australia has delivered strong performances both years they have participated, so I have high hopes they will get behind this song and make it moving and memorable, but I just worry that the song is too boring to reach voters. He may perform well with the juries, though, so I suspect he will make it to the final. But I doubt he will go very far in the final. A win at Eurovision won’t come easy for Isaiah.
